GREHA, since its inception in 1974, has concentrated on the growth of knowledge in the field of Environmental development and Architecture. The thrust of GREHA's efforts has been towards addressing issues of the majority of the Indian population, where the central concerns were of addressing poverty and basic shelter requirements, as well as developing knowledge and methodologies concerning settlement systems more suited to our history and cultural context.
  1. The name society shall be Greha.
  2. The Registered Office of the Society shall be situated in the Union Territory of Delhi. At present it is at House No. N-84, Panch Shila Park, New Delhi.
  3. The objects for which the Society is being established are:
    1. To establish and run schools/colleges to impart Architectural education in Indian in accordance with the standards laid down by the Council of Architecture.
    2. To establish and maintain centres for research in the field of Design, Architecture, Environmental planning and Technology.
    3. To set up Libraries or Musics and collect Books, Publications, Literatures, Models, Designs, Drawings and other information relevant to the advancement of the Science and Technology.
    4. To print and publish Books, Journals, Paper and such other material to help disseminate knowledge and impart education.
    5. To organise and conduct conferences, seminars, lectures, tours, demonstrations, exhibitions and such other programmes like continuing education of professionals as may be necessary to impart knowledge.
    6. To cooperate and collaborate with other similar institutions, who carry on work or activities falling within all or any of the objects of the Society or any matter allied or connected thereto.
    7. In order to attain the above said objects, the following shall be incidental or ancillary:
      1. To accept donations or grants of money and of land, building and equipment, gifts, substantiation and pay other assistance from the government, local bodies, public bodies, corporation companies individuals, international organisations or persons for the purpose of the society on such conditions as may be agreed to.
      2. To provide funds towards all or any of the objects of the society, and generally to give donations, stipends, scholarships or other payments and render such
        assistance to deserving persons and institutions that may be engaged in pursuit of objectives similar to the above.
      3. To enter into any agreement with the Union or State Government or any public or private body or reason to purchase, take over by way of lease, or in exchange, or otherwise acquire and maintain and sell, lease mortgage or otherwise dispose of or turn into account any immovable or immovable property of the Greha and construct, maintain and alter any buildings and works, that may be necessary or convenient for any other objects of the society.
      4. To invest the funds of the society not immediately required in such institutions as may be decided form time to time by the governing council. Subject to the provisions of the Income Tax Act 1961 and other laws as may be applicable.
      5. To employ workers, technical experts and all personal, necessary to carry cut the objects of the society and to pay therefore such regeneration as may be consider reasonable by the governing council.
      6. To borrow or raise any as may required by the society on such basis or such manner as may be decided by the Governing Council.
      7. To do all other acts and things as may be necessary convenient or exposure for furthering the objects of the society.
  4. All the incomes, earnings, movable or immovable properties of the society shall be solely utilised and applied towards the promotion of its sign and objects only as set forth in the Memorandum of Association and so protion thereof shall be paid or transfer directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus profits or in any manner whosoever, to the present or past members of the society or to any person eliminating through any one or more of the present or the past members. No members of the society shall have any personal claim on any movable or immovable properties of the society or make any profits, whatsoever, by virtue of this membership.
  5. We, the undersigned are desirous of forming a society named under the Societies Registration Act – XXX of 1860 (Punjab Amendement Act 1957) as extended to the Union
    Territory of Delhi in pursuance of this Memorandum of Association, 1915 May of March 1986.
